Since WIA Educational became part of the Widenhorn family business, more and more workplaces have been added that improve the flow from secondary education to vocational education or the (metal) industry. WIA has now developed more than 25 complete workplaces including teaching materials. But the machines, software, training and service are also increasingly used in tech labs, fablabs and in industry. Both for internal training of people and for R&D and even production.
In the American state of Montana, Penta Machine Tools was founded in 2011 by the couple Matt and Michelle Hertel. Started in the garage with the first designed and developed desktop machine, but has now grown into an innovative machine manufacturer with a modern fully automatic machine park. Due to the growth, dealers are also increasingly being used. In June, WIA was granted the dealership of Penta Machine Tools due to the successful introduction of the desktop 5-axis milling machine in the Dutch (education) market. There is already a lot of interest in the user-friendly machine from both education and industry. The first machines have already been sold in the Netherlands.
The goal of developing a compact 5-axis milling machine was to make this advanced technology available to everyone. In education, the technology of 5-axis milling can finally be introduced in a safe and cost-effective way. In industry, the machine can be used for smaller parts, so that this does not have to be made on a large expensive machine. The machine is encased so that it can be placed safely in any environment.
In this day and age, nothing is as important as support and service to be able to work optimally with your investment. This applies to both education and industry. WIA has an experienced service team that can often be on site within a few hours if the need is high.
